My First Handbag

This is my very first handbag that was not stitched into a rectangle. My very first hard handbag.
It was challenging at first but I did it. The straps were the most difficult for me. The linen would not fold straight and I made then to wide. Next time I will do better. I added a very beautiful antique button to hold the bag closed.

I found the tutorial for this handbag here: Sewingtutes

"T" Initial Red Cherub Bag

This bag was made for my daughter's 21st birthday. I feel so old.
I used Newport stitching fabric. Not sure of the count and DMC 815.
I love my Casa Mia cherub initials. They have so many good uses. I did however, use an antique filet. So pretty and red mother of pearl flower buttons.

Rose Pouch

I used Natural Linen Stitch Band with Ecru Pyramid on the sides with DMC 815 and an antique red shell button. I love this Yuwa Rose Linen. Everywhere I found the pink rose. There is one place I did find the red rose linen below. It matches the color of the stitch band perfectly.  The stitch band was a little off from the manufacturers. The lines were not straight.

Cherub Drawstring Handbag

This cute drawstring handbag I made with French General Toweling Fabric. It turned out great.
I used 32 count natural linen with DMC 815. Some of the ribbons are vintage and I cross stitched the heart ribbon using stitch band I bought from Atelier Skeekjes en Kruisjes. They have very small to very large stitch bands. The vintage red crochet ribbon, I bought the last 8 yards off of Etsy so I can use it for a handbag. I did add some cute charms, a vintage bone ring and made a little pincushion to use as a charm.

Mini Bag from Mamilou

I am working on a French Cotton Girl Pinkeep and a little bag from Mamilou Creations. I am almost done.

Mamilou Creations
Explanation and Grid are  here:   http://www.mamiloucreations.com/12-categorie-1037245.html
For this pinkeep I am using 28 count linen and DMC 815.

The mini bag I am using 32 count Lugana linen and DMC 816. I have just a few more things to finish on the body then I have to construct the handle and the sides of the bag. So much detail.
