Welcome, Merci Small Embroidery

I did some small stitching for a friend that owns a store.

Welcome to greet customers & Merci to say thanks for shopping.
I found the grid Welcome in Mains & Merveilles No. 71 & Merci was a free grid from Des filles et une Aigulle when I purchased some fabric from them.

I made a small tassel for one and some nice ribbons croquet that I purchased from Broderie Passion.

Zakka Pin Cushion

I saw this pin cushion Zakka Style. I needed a bigger pincushion for all my pins.

I used vintage Lace and a vintage hand crochet button. This button is so pretty. I had to use it for this project. I also added vintage laundry ribbon with my initials and a cute charm. The back is just one piece of linen.

Lavender and Lace Heart Pillow

I made one for may Aunt's birthday and said "Hey, I want one", so I made one for me using some nice antique MOP buttons and a buckle slide.

I found a tutorial on how to make these here:  THE FLIPPIN NEST

Lavender and Lace

I made this lavender and lace heart pillow for my Aunt's birthday. I needed something quick and did not have time to cross stitch anything. These are so easy to make. I have collected doilies and lace trims from flea markets for a while and wanted to make something with them. You just randomly sew pieces everywhere and if you think it looks like crap at first, after you are done this is what comes out.

I also added some antique buttons and I had a monogram with my Aunt's initial on it. These were cheap on the internet.

My Sister Memory Pillow

In memory of my sister who just passed from breast cancer this past Thanksgiving (2012), I made this small pillow. I printed her image on a piece of linen and stitched a border around it using DMC 815. I used strips of French General fabric, red gingham fabric and in the back is red gingham. I used a safety pin in the corner and hung various ribbons and charms on it. I also made a tiny pin cushion with twisted cord and cross stitched a piece of linen with hearts. I also put some hand made pins on it last minute and gave it to my father for father's day. It turned out beautiful that my father cried his eyes out. Probably not because I did such good work.
I love to use French General fabric because it is so soft to the touch and it has a vintage look to it.

Throw Pillows

I made this pillow for my bed using blue stripe ticking fabric I found at the thrift store, some Toile scene ticking fabric for the front and blue gingham fabric for the back of the pillow and for the yo yo flowers and blue shellz buttons. This came out beautiful and I can't wait til I make the other pillow. I just have to sew it up. With the left over fabric because I am making the 2nd pillow with an envelope triangle flap, I had left over fabric which I made into an accessories case which I posted earlier.
