Antique Toy Sewing Machine Found

This was found in a friend's basement uncovered recently. A blast from the past. A toy sewing machine. It needs a little TLC.

Antique Thread Winder

I bought my first antique thread card with red thread. They usually have the black thread but I found one with red. I love it.

Little bit of everything vintage

Out of all the lace trims, doilies and other vintage items I bought over the weekend at the flea market, these are my favorites.

I found some great carved shell mother of pearl buttons and buckle slides and also silk thread on wood bobbins.

Vintage Needle Books from the 60's.
I love this doily and the technique. I forget what the technique is called but this is how you would make a hoop for a button. I took the photo up close as well.

Antique Doilies and MOP Spool

I can never help myself when it comes to finding vintage notions and handmade items. I found this Mother of Pearl Spool and antique doily that my 80 year old acquaintance's mother hand crocheted this beautiful doily when she was very young. It is about 40 years old.

Antique Pincushion & hat pins

My new pincushion was a mile high full of dust so I carefully removed all the pins and snipped the threads to remove the cover off the pillow. I then soaked it in Oxyclean for 2 days and restitched it up. Some of the cross stitches were torn so I restitched them as well. Turns out they used DMC 3750 on 30 count cream linen. One of my favorite colors.
 Here are the results.

Antique Pin Cushion

I was in an old woman's house today and she is french. She collects so many antiques. I admired a few things. She is so generous that she gave them to me.

This antique cross stitched pin pillow is very old. One pin stood out among the rest.

She also gave me an embroidered beaded butterfly keep. It has metal threads and beads on Jacquard fabric.
I am in love.

Antique Pin Cubes

I just bought off of Ebay these gorgeous antique pin cubes. How great and they still have a lot of pins still in the cubes.

I can not wait to receive them.

Singer Sewing Machine

I was walking to the fabric store and stopped by the Goodwill just to look and I came across a few great items. I found antique sewing items including a set of German made scissors but I can not seem to identify the mark. I also found a Singer Sewing Machine with its carry case for $40.00. I am so happy. Even though I really wanted the ones with the hand painted flowers on it. This was such a great deal that I had to buy it. There goes my fabric money.

Memory Board of Laces

My fabric covered memory board where I display my vintage laces and some vintage metal embroidery hoops. I can not hang it because there is a huge mirror behind it on top of my entertainment cabinet.

Vintage Sewing Basket

I found this vintage wicker sewing basket at the flea market for $13.00. It was fill with a lot of thread on wood spools, an original yellow fabric measuring tape, metal embroidery hoop, huge textile spool of thread, a darning and a wood spool holder. This was in very good condition. There even was really small crochet needles and rolls of crochet cotton balls which I gave as a gift to a friend who owns a knitting shop.

Vintage Haberdasheries

I found all of these vintage needle cards at the thrift store. There is even one that says Woolworth's. Blast from the past. One of my favorite stores. They still had the needles inside. I also found some vintage snaps and hook and eyes still on the cards.
