Pot Lid

I started cross stitching some jars and tins. One I finished now. More on the way.

I used 40 count cream linen, DMC 930, 931, 932. I also ironed on a patch of fabric to match with fusible heat n' bond so you can not see the unsightly stitching on the back through the jar and attached the label with double sided craft tape. It is very strong so it worked well on staying on the jar.

I bought the blue flower ribbon from Atelier Steekjes en Kruisjes
The blue ric rac from local craft store.
Alphabet pattern from the book "Au fil du Temps qui passe (here)"
Label found in "Creation Point de Croix" Magazine on Pinterest (here)

Mamilou Items

I made these little items Needlebook, pincushion, needle roll from the pattern of Mamilou Creations.

The needlebook was free on her website. I also made a tape measure to match which was from Secrets de fanny
Instead of cross stitching both sides of the square pin pillow, I used fabric on the bottom. I over stuffed a little.
After putting everything together, I noticed I missed a flower in the corner on the front so I added a silver safety pin charm hanging in the missing spot.

Exchange from Linen and Small Crosses

My package arrived from France last night. All I can say is wow. Celine, you do really good work.
Celine makes these gorgeous pouches with all of these pockets. I can not hold a candle to her. She even made me a pattern to make one of these beauties.
I sew not straight and cut my fabric not straight. One day I will have to take classes.

I also made a biscornu from a Marie Suarez book.

Zakka Pin Cushion

I saw this pin cushion Zakka Style. I needed a bigger pincushion for all my pins.

I used vintage Lace and a vintage hand crochet button. This button is so pretty. I had to use it for this project. I also added vintage laundry ribbon with my initials and a cute charm. The back is just one piece of linen.

Pin Cushions

I made this pin cushion using 28 count Cashel linen in natural color using DMC 931 and Ecru. I zipped up the edges using 931 backstitch and Ecru Biscornu style. I did also iron on some light interfacing so the pins did not get lost in there and added an antique shell button. Next time I think I will use crushed walnut shells.
I had a lot of left over pieces of fabric so I made lots of pin cushions and some shabby chic flowers just in case I need a gift on a whim.

Red heart pin cushion jar

I did this little pin cushion for a really small jar. It went on crooked but that is okay. Live and learn. Practice makes perfect.
I used 32 Count Jobelan linen and DMC 815. I found the pattern in an issue of Del fil Aguilles magazine.

Blue Bird Pin Pillow

I made this pin pillow for my step children's mother who lost her father due to his age. I used 32 Count Lugana and DMC 931. I added a charm some pins and some vintage rick rack that I found at the thrift store still in the original packaging and French General's fabric.

French Teacup Pincushion

I had an old french style tea set which i made into a pincushion because I found this wonderful Marie Antoinette button that I really wanted to use. I used some thick metallic thread added some pins, vintage buttons and wood spools.

More Pin Cushions

Pin Cushions

Everytime I buy fabric I have to make a pin cushion out of it. Now I have an endless supply of pin cushions. I made the pink pincushion out of a vintage glass and silver coaster.

Bottlecap Pin Cushions

My very first bottlecap pincushions. They turned out great.
I embroidered them and put Swarovski Crystal Elements, beads and pins to top them off.
